Three Years Into The Job, John Elway Is Now Officially A General Manager

John Elway didn’t win a Super Bowl this year, but he did get an official title. Those are so much nicer. Who needs gaudy jewelry when you have nice things to put on your business card? Let those loud Seahawks have their loud trophy. John Elway is officially a GM, even if he’s already been more or less serving as one for three years.

A three-year contract extension for Elway was announced on Wednesday morning by the Broncos, part of which included the new job title. The extension ensures he’ll likely be around long enough for Peyton Manning to retire, thus leaving him with the conundrum of hoping another franchise quarterback hits the open market (sorry, Brock Osweiler). So that should be fun.
