This College Student Took A $60,000 Trip Around The World For Only $300

This video demonstrates exactly how well careful vacation planning can go, which is completely unlike most people’s experiences. Generally speaking, layovers are a nightmare, but this guy made them work to his advantage. He wasn’t messing around, either. College student Sam Huang planned his magnificent voyage well in advance and used a crap-ton of frequent flyer miles. He booked several Emirates Airlines international flights with generous layovers (spanning several hours apiece). In the end, Huang ended up making a first-trip around the globe.

Officially, Huang booked a round-trip flight from New York to Melbourne. Not too exciting on face value, right? In the end, Huang visited five continents and seven different countries. A trip that should have cost him $60,000 ended up only taking $300 out of his pocket:

His method was pretty simple. He booked a flight from New York to Melbourne with extended layovers in Milan, Dubai, Sydney, Auckland, and Singapore. Not much of a loophole, but apparently Emirates is dumb enough to let that sh*t fly. Literally.

This is insanity! As you can see from the above video, Huang also visited Melbourne, New York City, Houston, Rome, Mauritius, Brisbane, and Singapore. He did it all with plenty of time to take in the local sights. Huang trekked through the jungle and frolicked in sand dunes. In flight, he enjoyed the height of luxury with in-flight showers, luxury cabins, and free booze all over the place. This guy had the ultimate adventure, and he’ll spend the rest of his life chasing that dragon.
