We Finally Have Sriracha Yogurt, All Is Right With The World

Chobani is turning up the heat in the yogurt aisle, with the release of two new Chobani Flip flavors: Chipotle Pineapple and Sriracha Mango.

Wow. It’s no secret that we love hot sauce here at Uproxx, but we would never have thought of adding it to our yogurt. Props, Chobani. Props. The Chipotle Pineapple is pineapple-flavored yogurt, with “chipotle granola, smoked almonds, and pumpkin seeds” on the flip side while Sriracha Mango is mango-flavored yogurt, “Sriracha-coated rice crisps, mini sesame sticks, and roasted and salted cashew pieces.”

While the add-ins are certainly interesting, it doesn’t look like the yogurt will be completely savory. The sugar levels are 14g and 15g respectively, which is definitely lower than some of their other Flip flavors, but not in the sugar-free basement by any means.

While the flavor hasn’t hit shelves just yet, Chobani told me through Twitter DM that they were shipped to stores two days ago and should be available very soon. Meanwhile, Twitter users are more than excited at the news, with reactions such as the following:

And, okay, there are also some who think Chobani’s new flavors are flipping terrible. (And if you’re one of those people, no worries. Chobani is also releasing a Peppermint Perfection Flip. Better?)

The real question is, will the innovative flavors be enough to boost Chobani’s recently-slumping share of the Greek yogurt game in the U.S.? Which, according to the Wall Street Journal back in May, were down “15 percentage points to 44 percent from its peak in January 2012.”

We sure hope so, if only because we’re still waiting for Tabasco-flavored yogurt. (Bloody Mary, maybe?)

BONUS: Speaking of Tabasco sauce, Check out this video of it being made. Told you we love hot sauce.
