Granola Bars Made From Beer May Be The Only Thing That Will Get Us To Eat Healthy

There’s a huge divide in the way people enjoy beer. One side is populated by craft beer fans who have no worries about the caloric content of their favorite bourbon-barreled coffee stout or cranberry-melon Gose. The other is full of fitness fans who don’t care if their beer closely resembles tonic water as long as it’s low in calories.

The only real way to bridge the gap between healthy beer fans and those “not-so-healthy” is by giving them something they both love: beer and snacks. We’re not talking about Cheetos and Ring-Dings. We’re talking about beer granola bars.

No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you, a company called Regrained in San Francisco is actually making beer granola bars. The company’s motto is “Eat Beer,” and they’re obsessed with the idea that since there’s so much waste in the beer-making process, they might as well just find a way to eat it. “I was just blown away to see how much raw material we used to make five gallons of beer,” co-founder Dan Kurzrock told Forbes.

After the brewing process, the leftover grain is chock-full of protein and fiber and when made into granola bars has a great texture and a subtle beer flavor that we all secretly crave. Regrained’s goal is to eventually use spent grain to make a handful of different products including bread, cookies and chips.

Not only are these snacks healthy, but this means that you can finally both drink and eat beer. There’s honestly no need for any other food or liquid now. All beer all day.
