Christy Mack Teams Up With An Unlikely Ally To Help End Domestic Violence

Former adult actress Christy Mack went through an incomprehensibly horrifying experience at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Jonathan Koppenhaver, a.k.a. War Machine, when he nearly beat her to death in August 2014. Koppenhaver, who would have finished the job if Mack had not managed to escape, is currently facing attempted murder and assault charges stemming from the incident. In all likelihood, he’ll be facing significant jail time.

One might think this would be of some comfort to Mack (real name Christine Mackinday), but she has since had to suffer remarks from both Koppenhaver’s defense attorneys (and countless internet trolls) who argue the alleged attempted sexual assault that took place during the attack is inconsequential. Why? Because of the outrageous sentiment that “porn stars can’t be raped.” So perhaps it’s fitting that Mack has teamed up with the internet pornographer giant Pornhub in a “Pornhub Cares” campaign to take a stand against domestic violence.

In the video accompanying the campaign, Mack states that due to her past, domestic violence is now a very important cause for her. She cites a statistic from the United States stating that one in three women and one in four men will be affected by domestic violence in their lifetime. To help decrease these numbers, Mack and Pornhub apparel have created a clothing line featuring her likeness that will donate 100 percent of proceeds to domestic violence charities.

In light of everything she’s been through, Mack deserves huge props for not only surviving her terrible ordeal, but wanting to help others who might be going through the same thing. You can view her apparel line here.
