Dog Umbrellas Are Here To Keep Our Pets Dry (While Looking Ridiculous)

Dogs are the best. Being a dog owner, even better! Until it rains. Having to walk a dog in the rain is a nightmare. For starters, canines, like people, often hate getting rained on. As a result, a couple droplets make them shake their furry asses and scratch their noses in a thumb-less effort to alleviate discomfort. But worse than the dog’s discomfort is your own — which can be enough to make you question if a dog is really worth it. (Spoiler alert: still is.)

But if you need a little extra convincing that a dog is worth the rainy walks, perhaps this latest accessory will put your doubtful, “pet loving” mind at ease. Pooches everywhere now don dog umbrellas to protect them from the rain!

If you haven’t seen them yet, dog umbrellas, which could presumably be used for walking cats or any other small fur baby, are basically a regular umbrella that straps to your dog’s collar. But, instead of the handle being where it usually is, it runs out of the top of the umbrella and straight into your hand to act like a leash! How clever!

They’re available on Amazon for a pretty reasonable price and the reviews are generally terrific. But we have our doubts. Like for example, if you have a big dog, this couldn’t possibly help the situation. It more likely provides an avenue for water to more directly run straight onto your big dog’s back. Also the leash seems a bit short. If you’re not careful, your dog will probably be pooping on your shoes with this thing.

But hey, at least everyone will be dry, right?
