This Company Allows Its Employees To Take Time Off For ‘Game Of Thrones’

As a child, I used to beg and plead with my mom to let me take the day after the Super Bowl off from school. It wasn’t because I was too tired, or too embarrassed to face my friends who I tried to convince — no really — this is the Buffalo Bills’ year. I just didn’t want to go to school. Because I was a child.

Respecting the wishes of annoying kids everywhere, the bosses at +rehabstudios — a creative technology firm — are allowing their employees to take a half-day off from work on the Monday after Game of Thrones premieres:

All +rehabstudio UK staff (London and Belfast offices) will receive an additional half-day (morning) holiday following the first episode of each new season of Game of Thrones when simlaunched with the U.S. U.S. staff are reminded not to share spoilers on the intranet until after the show has aired in the UK 24 hours later.

+rehabstudio’s founding partner told Mashable that “we have some huge [Game of Thrones] fans in the office,” and “some of the team have asked if the perk is transferable to similar shows like The Walking Dead, and that’s fine with us, too.” You just know there’s going to be one person in the office who uses their Get Out of Work Free card on an episode of Ray Donovan or a really good Friends rerun. And if an American employee dares break the “no spoiler” policy, well, remember what happened to Ned Stark? That.
