Did you know tortillas have been around for 12,000 years? Regardless of how you ultimately use them, they’re actually super easy to make. According to Mayan legend, tortillas were invented by a peasant that made them for his king around 10,000 BC. It might have been a lot of work then, but all you need is a couple bucks and a skillet and you can make a TON of tortillas. The ancient creation still totally holds up and is super affordable.

As fun and easy as they are to make, however, some organizations just can’t hack it. Say you have much more than a few bucks and don’t know how to use a skillet. In that case, modern invention has got your back!

A new Kickstarter campaign just rolled out to help your tortilla game and, as of press time, they have already doubled their pledge goal…They’re at $130,000 with 21 days to go.

The Keurig style Flatev takes plastic pods filled with flour, corn, or flavored dough and within seconds pumps out a fresh tortilla cooked exactly to your liking. The tortillas are gluten-free, all-natural and organic. On-demand perfection. You can still get one of these for $239, which is a considerable discount from their retail price of $437, but the price of pods and ingredients is still yet to be seen.

No matter the cost, though, on-demand, fresh tortillas seems like something happiness is made of.
