Rene Redzepi is the brainchild behind Copenhagen’s now legendary NOMA. Redzepi’s influence and culinary acumen goes beyond making sure his kitchen puts out 45 covers for every seating. He’s becoming a powerhouse at bringing chefs, food lovers, brewers, distillers, and food journalists together to live/sleep/breathe food for a weekend in Copenhagen at the Mad5 food festival.

Mad5 is all about the food — cooking it, loving it, figuring out how to make it better and more accessible, dreaming about where sustainability is going, and just about every other facet of the food related world you can imagine…and then some. This year’s two-day event was themed, “Tomorrow’s Kitchen,” which aims to answer “What do we hope our kitchens will be like in the future? And what can we do today to make those dreams a reality?”

Tomorrow’s Kitchen is a great way to look at the food coming out of the big red tent on Copenhagen’s Refshaleøen Island. This year saw the acceptance of 300 lucky souls from the food industry to participate, speak, cook, eat, and drink. Many of the lucky people in attendance showed up on Instagram to tempt us norms with the delectable things they ate.

Below is a visual tasting menu of photos that’ll take you through your morning coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch, snacks, dinner, dessert, and drinks. Enjoy!
