All-Day Breakfast Is Working And Might Save McDonald’s

Despite many franchise owners hating the new developments, McDonald’s new All-Day Breakfast is apparently just the thing to keep the American institution from dying. I guess people just like the feeling of total anarchy that came with buying a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit at 4 p.m.

Despite starting 2015 at an all-time low, the company has experienced a “sizable lift,” with 61 percent of customers adding breakfast items to their afternoon and evening orders, according to a study from NDP research firm. While the data is still limited, this seems to signal good times to come for the Golden Arches.

“This preliminary review of McDonald’s all-day breakfast offer suggests consumers are receptive to ordering McDonald’s breakfast foods beyond traditional breakfast hours,” Bonnie Riggs, NPD’s restaurant industry analyst and author of the study, said in a statement. “It’s early, and there are other questions to answer as time goes on, but for now it’s working.”

So, for now, our right to eat a McMuffin any damn time we want has been preserved. Whether this is ultimately a good thing for society remains to be seen. After being reminded of the everlasting nature of McDonald’s “food,” maybe not.
