It’s 2:30 a.m. and you’ve been partying and drinking all night. You get a craving for McDonald’s, but they don’t deliver where you’re from. You can’t drive because even if you’re a Saturday night drunkard, you’re still responsible enough to not get in a car intoxicated. So you walk to the nearest 24-hour Mickey D’s, but they only offer drive-thru service because the lobby is closed. Now you’re in a parking lot of McDonald’s begging strangers in their cars to order you an Arch Deluxe. Well, you won’t have to worry about this situation anymore, because now McDonald’s restaurants are testing out ‘walk-thru’ lanes.

According to The Sun, a McDonald’s location in the UK decided to test a ‘walk-thru’ lane in addition to the drive-thru lane to accommodate pedestrian traffic during late night/early morning hours. The McDonald’s which is in Llandudno, North Wales tried the idea last weekend between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. and customers are loving it. The franchise saw an increase in sales and will be offering the walk-thru every weekend. Granted, this McDonald’s is in direct proximity to a popular nightclub.

Here in the U.S. we don’t have a walk-thru McDonald’s just yet, but they could be available soon and it has nothing to do with drunk people, but rather not offering one is in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
