This Restaurant At The Bottom Of A Waterfall May Be The Coolest Dining Experience Ever

If you consider Casa Bonita to be the pinnacle of waterfall dining experiences, think again. Because Labassin Waterfall Restaurant is miles above the cheese-drenched enchilada that is Denver’s famous (infamous?) eatertainery.

Located in Tiaong, Philippines, Labassin is run by the Villa Escudero Resort. The waterfall itself is as man-made as Casa Bonita’s, but that’s where the similarities end. Labassin’s waterfall is actually legit enough to provide hydroelectric power to a nearby coconut plantation.

As for the dining experience, it’s a far cry from Denver, too. Just getting to the restaurant is an adventure: diners are brought in carts pulled by water buffalo. And proper dining attire definitely isn’t required — the bamboo tables at the base of the falls are placed right in the water, and diners can actually soak in the falls while waiting for their food to be served.

And, oh yeah, about that food. We could wax poetic about the seafood served up at Labassin Waterfall Restaurant, but what’s the point? Just check out some of the shots actual diners have taken:

The best part in all this? Dining at the base of this waterfall won’t break the bank. According to Food and Wine, a full-day experience at the La Escudero Resort, which includes pickup from central hotels in Manila, a tour of a family-owned museum of relics, and, of course, a meal at the Labassin Waterfall Restaurant, only costs $100. Feels like an easy one to put on and then check off the old bucket list.
