Here’s Your First Look At Universal Hollywood’s Wizarding World Of Harry Potter

Harry Potter fans on the west coast won’t have to wait too much longer to visit their own theme park. Come Spring 2016, Universal Studios Hollywood will open up the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the California version of the park that has been going strong in Orlando since 2010. The place where you can buy real butterbeer — spiked, even! — and find the magic wand that will choose you is finally taking shape. And now, you can get your first look in the video above. It’s a very preliminary glimpse at the new park (which, truthfully, looks a lot like the Orlando park, but that’s a good thing!), but it’s a nice preview of what’s to come.

Sadly no looks inside the rides, which include the “hyper-realistic 3D-HD” “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” and “Flight of the Hippogriff,” but it’s hard to fully represent something like that in a short YouTube video. There’s also the possibility that the rides aren’t ready yet, or there’s a hold-up with the elf labor, or maybe the dragons got loose or something. As far as the shops and restaurants go, however, there’s some good footage of tourists dressed for summer walking around fake-snow-covered buildings. It’s everything you’ve ever wanted in a Harry Potter theme park!
