"Celebrate Garfield’s 36th Birthday With 36 Classic Jokes From The Comic Strip"
Mailing cats to Abu Dhabi is still one of my family’s favorite jokes. God bless you, you fictional tubby ginger cat.
Garfield is almost as funny as Cathy. And Cathy is the comedic equivalent of Artax drowning.
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate! Ack!
The ten year old me loves Garfield. Also Nermal.
These are the only funny Garfield comics: [garfieldminusgarfield.net]
I love these so much.
I feel like we got trolled
Anyone else’s parents have the Garfield window clinger??
Nermal’s gender (along with Tweety Bird’s) caused so so so so so much confusion for me as a kid. Especially on the old TV show from the 80s/90s when he sounded like a 5 year old girl.
That said, Garfield, Peanuts and Foxtrot are still my 3 favorite comics of all time
On his 36th birthday let us celebrate 30 years of mediocrity.
I always liked the old Garfield comics, when John would get absolutely ruined by a monday.
I own the Maine Coon version of Garfield & if he could talk, he would be exactly the same. Even down to the battery recharge & the burping.
Hey pissed off and overly cynical Internet commenters complaining on this post, I hope your Friday is going well. I didn’t write this post to “troll” anyone or try to capitalize on traffic, because it actually didn’t do very well at all. The reason I wrote it is because even though a lot of Garfield jokes make me cringe today, I remember when I was a kid and I’d run out to snag the Sunday paper before my mom or dad could so I could get the comics section and read Garfield and Mother Goose and Grimm. I absolutely loved that a-hole cat when I was a kid, so I thought, “I bet there are other people out there who probably have fond memories as well,” and I spent about an hour looking through some archives to maybe make a few people happy and remind everyone that there are still new Garfield strips daily.
So if this post really upset you enough to complain about it, my sincerest apologies. I’ll continue to try my hardest not to piss in your lasagna when I write whatever I feel like writing about.
Haters gonna hate. I enjoyed it Burnsy. I held the same esteem for Garfield when I was a kid. In fact, I stole the whole Garfield series of books from Waldenbooks as a 3rd grader. Something I’m not proud of, but it happened. Oh well.
I just can’t believe he’s 36. Damn I’m getting old.
