In the age of the internet, the marketing departments at movie studios have tried countless things to get whatever film they’re promoting on the brains of web users, from Funny or Die spoofs to trick viral marketing campaigns. But movies that have Bill Murray in them have an inherent advantage: Bill Murray, and it’s sort of refreshing to see that people doing the publicity for Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom recognize the asset at their disposal.
“Hey, why don’t we just get Bill drunk on rum and video him giving a tour of the set?”
That’s exactly how I imagine the video below came to be. Genius will often come unexpectedly and out of no where, after all.
