Dana White Says Upcoming UFC Announcements Are Going To ‘Blow People’s Minds’

UFC president Dana White got cryptic on the Colin Cowherd show. What started as a hype appearance for Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor 2 quickly shifted to Dana discussing the future of the UFC, and according to him, under the new ownership, the future is bright.

“Just the announcements we’re going to make in the next three months, they’re so awesome they’re going to blow everyone’s mind, man. I love building, I love winning I love the grind and getting in every day and then making this thing bigger and better and making all the athletes more money.”

Cowherd sit-in Nick Wright pressed him to make one of the announcements now, but Dana pushed back, saying they’re in the pipeline.

“In the next three months. In the next three months we’re going to be popping out announcements left and right.”

Wright pushed harder, but Dana stayed strong:

“We’re not ready! I don’t announce ’til we’re ready. When deals are signed and things are done, I announce.”

So what could it be? The UFC’s FOX contract runs out on December 31, 2018, and there have been rumblings that they want to hook up with ESPN and get out from under FOX, but that wouldn’t be announced in the next three months, would it?

Dana also mentioned “making all the athletes more money,” which he could do by paying people more. Will they now be paying the fighters more, or is Dana excited about a fighter union? A union doesn’t seem like something Dana would be excited about, but as someone who has officially cashed out to the tune of $400 million, maybe he’s down to let everyone else get theirs?

What could these announcements possibly be? Rule changes? New weight classes? Different and better Reebok deal? WHAT? Tell us.
