Y’all wanna see a dead body? Patricky “Pitbull” Freire is happy to oblige, as he put an enormous stamp on his lightweight fight against Ryan Couture at Bellator 148 on Friday.

Ryan did land some solid shots, but he got wobbled far more than Freire. Maybe he was too wary of Patricky’s ground game, but Couture never looked for a take down, and he paid the ultimate price a little more than mid-way through the very first round.

A left hook straight to the jaw disconnected Couture’s brain from the rest of his body and he face planted hard into the canvas. There was no need to follow up, so Patricky leapt to the cage to celebrate.

In case anyone is worried, Ryan seems to have recovered as much as can be expected from a big punch like that. It’s one thing to joke about a guy getting blasted or starched or killed from a massive knockout, but Uproxx Sports obviously doesn’t revel in long-term, permanent injuries to any combat sports athlete.
