Ronda Rousey is back in action on December 30th after over a year long hiatus from mixed martial arts and it has the potential to be the biggest fight of the year for the UFC. That’s even with Conor McGregor breaking PPV records left and right, but as UFC president Dana White has said, Ronda Rousey is by far the promotion’s biggest star. She’ll have a chance to prove him right at UFC 207 when she faces current women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. We now have the poster for Nunes vs Rousey, and it’s pretty damn hyped.

The women’s bantamweight belt has been on a bit of an adventure since Rousey lost it to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November of 2015. Holm dropped the belt to Ronda’s nemesis Miesha Tate at UFC 196 in March, and then Tate got beaten bloody and submitted by Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 in July. Now Nunes hopes to be the first non-Rousey woman to be able to defend the 135 pound belt. Unfortunately for her, she has to beat Ronda Rousey herself to do it.

Which Ronda Rousey will show up in the cage is what everyone wants to know. For weeks after her comeback fight was announced, Ronda continued to stay under the radar. When she finally returned on the Ellen show, she announced this fight would be one of her last, prompting many to wonder if she had one foot out the cage door already. Dana White confirmed she was looking to become an actor and wouldn’t be around much longer. But fighters who have returned with less than 100% commitment to the sport have stumbled in the past.

Will we see the same Rousey that went 12-0 with 11 first round stoppages? Or will Amanda Nunes be able to replicate Holly Holm’s feat and use Ronda’s aggression to counter her with strikes and knock her out? One way or another, there’s going to be fireworks.
