These Are Scenes That Actors Hated Filming (But Still Ended Up Amazing On Screen)

The best scenes in movies are often the toughest. That chase or epic fight sequence or sex scene probably looks so interesting and layered and just plain cool because it was a massive pain in the ass to shoot, for the filmmakers and for the actors.

Seriously, you think Tom Hardy was pumped about being staked to the front of that muscle car with a metal mask on his face for days in Mad Max: Fury Road? Or that Leonardo DiCaprio, a vegetarian, was all down with eating raw bison liver in The Revenant? Or that poor Shelley Duvall had to play hysterically in danger of being brutally murdered by Jack Nicholson for 127 takes in The Shining?

The good folks at Screen Rant were well aware of this paradox, so they spliced up a video of “20 Amazing Scenes That Actors Hated Shooting.” It’s all there, from Hardy, DiCaprio and Duvall to Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis getting it on in Black Swan, to 50,000 cockroaches and 30,000 beatles crawling around Harrison Ford and company in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom to Nick Frost being forced to wear the jersey of his favorite football team’s arch rival in Hot Fuzz, so many of our favorite, most iconic movie scenes were shot with completely miserable actors.

Check out the video above to see all the best scenes with the most bummed out actors.
