Anthony Hopkins Is One Crafty Beer Billionaire In The Trailer For ‘Kidnapping Mr. Heineken’

Back in 1983, a group of five friends decided to attempt the “crime of the century” by kidnapping Freddy Heineken, the chairman and CEO of the Dutch beer company. I won’t spoil the ending for you, because for the second time in four years, Heineken’s story is being told in a feature film, and while he passed away in 2002, his family might think that it’s pretty cool that he’s been played by beloved actors like Rutger Hauer and now Sir Anthony Hopkins (at least I would). However, most people probably never heard of 2011’s The Heineken Kidnapping, so Kidnapping Mr. Heineken might be your first chance to learn about what can go wrong when you and your bros decide to go for the big score.

Cooking up the great scheme are Sam Worthington, Jim Sturgess, Mark van Eeuwen, Thomas Cocquerel and True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten, who I’m truly excited to see in a role that isn’t a cartoon version of a young, shirtless Gomer Pyle. Finger crossed, Jason Stackhouse.
