Channing Tatum Is Playing Adorably Dumb When It Comes To Gambit In ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’

As Channing Tatum already slyly revealed to his followers on Twitter, albeit shortly after 20th Century Fox made its own official announcement, his debut in a comic book movie will take place on October 7, 2016 in Gambit. That’s roughly five months after X-Men: Apocalypse will make $150 million on its opening weekend, so it will presumably be a great year for Fox’s Marvel brand. But a lot of people are wondering if these films are so close together, is there a chance that we’ll get to see our boy C-Tates, the hardest twerkin’ playboy in $how BIZna$$$ty, making his Cajun-speakin’ cameo before his standalone film?

MTV’s Josh Horowitz caught up with Tatum, Joe Manganiello and Adam Rodriguez at CinemaCon this week to talk about Magic Mike XXL, but of course Tatum had to answer the rumors about his Ghostbusters film with Chris Pratt (he denied its existence) and the debut of the new Gambit. Obviously, we’ve already heard the rumor from that site that starts a lot of rumors, but when asked if we’ll see Gambit in Apocalypse, Tatum dropped the Hollywood equivalent of “Oh crap, I’m going to piss the studio off, get me out of here!” So let’s just assume that’s a yes.
