Wes Anderson’s New Bar Will Make You Wish You Were In Milan

Wes Anderson has designed a bar in Italy that is every bit as cool and quirky as his films. Yet Bar Luce is not merely a novelty spot like a hipster Planet Hollywood.

Anderson worked with Fondazione Prada, an Italian cultural institute, to develop this full-blown tribute to Milan architecture and Italian cinema. That’s great, but visitors more familiar with Anderson’s filmography than Italian architecture can also enjoy the bar’s retro jukebox and a Steve Zissou pinball machine:

“I tried to make it a bar I would want to spend my own non-fictional afternoons in,” Anderson told Wired, suggesting that Bar Luce would be “an even better place to write a movie.”

According to the Fondazione Prada website, Bar Luce opened on May 9, 2015. The menu is not yet available, but one can easily imagine what a Wes Anderson bar might offer. Steve Zissou’s surf and turf? Fantastic Mr. Fox hard cider? Maybe a cup of The Darjeeling Limited tea?
