Did Robert Pattinson Really Say It’s The ‘Worst Insult’ To Be American?

Sparkly English vampire Robert Pattinson made some statements to Elle France that may not sit well with his American audience. In fact, these words are so unwise that something may have been lost in translation. Not that it’s unheard of for a multi-millionaire celebrity to bite back against the trappings of fame. Ariana Grande recently licked donuts while expressing distaste for America. Now RPattz has stepped in it too after allegedly saying he’s not proud when people find his American accent convincing.

If these words actually spilled from the sparklemouth, then Pattinson has a lot in common with Ariana. He may not lick donuts, but Kristen Stewart once told Vogue UK, “He loves to lick under my armpits.” Now that we have that revelation out of the way, let’s get down to business:

“It’s going to make you laugh, but as a Brit, to hear someone say I’m American is the worst insult! I am English! Let it be known once and for all! I live between Los Angeles and London. But being in London is a pure delight. They leave me alone. It’s the same everywhere in Europe. The other day I was strolling around Paris, and nobody bothered me!”

On face value, these words won’t bring any new fans to Pattinson’s newfound indie crusade, but he’s yet to follow up on the statements, nor has his PR agent stepped in with a remedy. I’m going to assume he didn’t really say this stuff because — as everyone knows — the “worst insult” would be to remind Pattinson he starred in all five Twilight movies.
