Sacha Baron Cohen has been Ali G, Bruno, and Borat. He’s also played a London barber (who met a grisly end) and a dictator (in a movie which many of us would rather forget). Now, the comedic actor is taking a role he’s never done before: A spy. Well, at least the brother of a spy who’s kind of hapless. And also has sex in mattress stores. But, you know, he’ll probably make a good spy by the end of the film, too.
The latest trailer for the film doesn’t tell you a whole lot about what the movie will be like, but if the ad is any indication, there’s going to be a lot of shooty noises (pewpewpew) and major explosions. And at least part of the film might be in first-person, which is an interesting departure for Cohen, who’s a talented actor, but does best when he’s portraying one of his signature characters. Perhaps after this movie comes out we’ll get another Borat? Dare to dream.
