This Movie Coach Super Speech Will Inspire You To Stop Acting Like A Loser

The best pop culture coach ever is, of course, Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights. You know why he’s so great, outside of all the finger pointing? Because Kyle Chandler made people completely forget about Billy Bob Thornton’s performance as Coach Gaines in the Friday Night Lights movie, and he was pretty good in that. The second best coach ever? Craig T. Nelson.

Unfortunately, neither Chandler (clear eyes, full hearts, good effort) or Nelson are in the video above, which only focuses on speeches given by movie coaches. There are still some classics in there, though, including snippets from A League of Their Own, Hoosiers, Any Given Sunday, Rocky, The Karate Kid, Happy Gilmore, The Bad News Bears, Miracle, Remember the Titans, and The Mighty Ducks. Basically, every movie your high school teacher showed on days where he or she didn’t feel like taking the rainbow parachute out of the bag.

Notable supercut oversights include Danny and Kevin O’Shea from Little Giants, Coach Klein from The Waterboy, and, of course, Chester Lee from Ladybugs. Rodney Dangerfield had so much to teach us. Mostly about similes (“We have a chance. Like a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest”), but they’re important to know.
