The First Teaser Trailer For ‘Godzilla: Resurgence’ Is Here

The last we saw of Godzilla, he was wading into the ocean, both a savior and a destroyer of public property. Now, Godzilla: Resurgence is coming to theaters in 2016, and it’s billed to be the triumphant return of the lizard monster that has terrorized Japan (and sometimes other places).

The 2014 Godzilla was worth the watch for the special effects alone, and we knew that Japan was going to create their response to the American-made take on their beloved monster. But we didn’t know exactly when; now we do. The year 2016 will be filled with the glorious destruction of Japanese infrastructure. Finally, Godzilla is wading back out of the water, and some serious 3-D visuals are about to be dropped.

The original production company behind Godzilla, Toho Co. Ltd.  released a teaser trailer of Godzilla: Resurgence (which I like to call Godzilla 28-32: I’m Not Really Sure) and the footage is pretty much exactly what you’d expect: screaming people and shaky cams. There’s no sign of the monster yet, but if the 2014 movie and the fact that Toho has a chip on their shoulder is any indication, this should feature a bigger, badder, and better-looking Godzilla than we’ve ever seen before.
