Fox just lit up the football loving audience with a sneak look at the Independence Day: Resurgence trailer. It’s been 20 years and Jeff Goldblum’s David Levinson has been helping the world use the alien technology from the first film to shore up our defenses for a return attack. Sadly it doesn’t seem to matter too much and the aliens are still back to tear things apart.
We get a nice look at the new war machines being flung from each side, especially from sweet looking jets on our side, some devastating world crushing beasts on the alien side, and some updated looking fighters too. These might be the adult aliens coming back to tear things apart because we ruined their idiot squads attempt at taking the planet. Here’s how that conversation went:
“You mean they just flew in and floated above the planet? And they let them hack them with a Mac? Let’s go.”

No Will Smith this time around, but we do get a Hemsworth involved. And Jeff Goldblum. So it’s not all bad.
