Here Are 7 Fearless Things You Didn’t Know About ‘Ghostbusters’ To Prepare For The Reboot

CineFix is back with another seven facts video, this time to celebrate Halloween with the guys in Ghostbusters. And just in time for the big reboot of the Ghostbusters universe with Paul Feig’s female version and a new animated team adventure. It’s hard to top the original and this video shows that — not to mention it shows a few things that I honestly did not know about the film.

Aside from Sigourney Weaver having to audition, I never knew that John Candy was meant to be in the film. They even drew up the storyboards using Candy as Louis Tully — seen in the video running away from the hound demon in a deleted scene with the two bums, played by Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray, discussing boxer Chuck Wepner.

Also included is the fact that the “marshmallow” at the end of the film was actually shaving cream, leading to one person getting a nasty skin rash. And it turns out that the reason for the marshmallow shower — the crossing of the streams ending — was made up on the spot as a way to get out of the movie. It just happens they established it earlier in the film and it worked. Pretty cool.
