Alison Brie Joins James Franco, Kate Upton In ‘The Disaster Artist’

In its first two weeks of release in 2003, The Room made all of $1,200. The approximate net worth of the cast of The Disaster Artist, about the making of Tommy Wiseau’s cult classic, is enough to buy every red rose in the world, with a little left over for some barbecue chicken. James Franco is playing Wiseau (and looks a lot like him), while Seth Rogen, Dave Franco, Josh Hutcherson, Jacki Weaver, Hannibal Buress, Kate Upton, and Zac Efron all portray key characters in the behind-the-scenes biopic based on Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell’s book of the same name. No word on who’s playing the doggie.

The latest addition to the cast is Alison Brie, as Sestero’s “on-screen girlfriend,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. That’ll be a tough part for Brie to pull off, considering Sestero is played by Dave Franco, her real-life fiancé. The Disaster Artist is one of many projects Brie has lined up in the future, including another season of BoJack Horseman, the Anna Kendrick and Bryan Cranston-starring Get a Job, Doctor Thorne with Ian McShane, and continuing to fuel the internet through the power of Community GIFs.

It’s not an easy job, but someone’s gotta do it (not Chang).
