Meanwhile, another scandal was brewing, and it involved Taylor. She hasn’t directly responded to this mess, but Amy Schumer took notice of Taylor’s red-carpet “thigh gap,” which was captured by the cameras during a dress-adjusting moment. The term is generally favored on pro-anorexia sites, so when Schumer got a little plucky, people noticed.
Schumer posted this photo — of herself in a swimsuit with comedienne Bridget Everett — with the following caption: “Taylor that’s not a thigh gap. This is a thigh gap.”
Was that a joke? Media outlets thought so, and it could have been a pointed jab at the competitive bikini-squad adventure of Summer 2015. Folks on the internet repeated eye-rolling remarks like this one:

Schumer must have felt the wind of those rolling eyelashes, so she posted a semi-apology with another Instagram photo. This time, she sported a “beard” and wrote, “So sorry to anyone with a beard this may offend. I am a comic and should never make fun of myself at the expense of anyone else that I wasn’t making fun of in the first place.”
Did she make the situation better or worse? One upside: At least no one’s accusing Schumer of stealing these jokes.
