Video games turned into movies are getting better every day, and Assassin’s Creed (releasing in 2016) looks like it’s going to be a blockbuster for the ages when it finally releases. Not only does the movie star Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard (who was so good in the last Batman film), but the production’s added Ariane Labed, whom Deadline calls “one of the most exciting and versatile actresses” in Europe, to its roster of movie stars.

In an exclusive report, Deadline reveals that the role Labed will be playing was originally meant for Alicia Vikander who couldn’t do the film because the shooting dates conflicted with the schedule for the new Bourne movie she’s in. Labed, who you may have not heard of yet, is well-known and respected in Europe and has already won numerous awards for her acting, but hasn’t had a big breakout in the Hollywood market:

This would be the highest-profile role yet for the 31-year-old actress who already has a clutch of awards under her belt for her fearless work. She won the Best Actress award in Venice in 2010 for her performance in Athina Rachel Tsangari’s Attenberg. She also won the Locarno Best Actress award last year for her work in Lucia Borleteau’s Fidelio, Alice’s Odyssey.

Who knows? Maybe Labed will be the best thing about this movie, but I’m also really hoping that high-flying acrobatics make a star turn.
