Arnold Schwarzenegger Dodges Questions About Trump And His Marriage Before Cutting Interview Short

If you want to talk to Arnold Schwarzenegger about fitness, body building, huge biceps and a sweet pair of pecs, that’s totally cool. If you want to talk to him about Donald Trump, well, forget it.

Angela Cox, the host of the Australian TV program Weekend Sunrise, learned that lesson on Saturday when she asked the Governator about Trump’s presidential campaign when he subsequently got up and peaced out.

The Terminator and Predator star was in Australia to promote his branded fitness events, as per The Hollywood Reporter, and Arnold will soon assume Trump’s role as the host of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. He recently dipped his toe into the current presidential race with an endorsement of Ohio Governor John Kasich, a candidate for the Republican nomination.

Still, Schwarzenegger wasn’t in the mood to talk politics with Cox, telling her, “This is an interview that I only do about fitness and health, not about politics or my relationships,” before bailing. Cox apparently also asked Schwarzenegger about his marriage to Maria Shriver, which ended in scandal and controversy after his affair with a family housekeeper was exposed a few years ago.

The New York Post reports that Schwarzenegger’s publicist said Arnold walked simply because Cox went over the five minutes allocated for the interview, but also added, “I think she’s just trying to make a name for herself. She’s new on the show. Her line of questioning was inappropriate.”

The moral of the story is: Don’t mess with Arnold in an interview, otherwise he’ll get up and leave and he won’t be back. Thanks, I’ll be here all week – try the veal.
