‘Batman V Superman’ Will Have An Epic ‘Self-Contained’ Fight

It’s not really a big surprise that a movie called Batman V. Superman is going to have a few massive fights. Really, if Batman isn’t applying spiked bat-boot to face before the end of the movie, something has gone horribly awry. But, apparently, we’ll be seeing destruction on an epic scale.

Joe Letteri, Weta Digital’s director, sat down with Collider to talk about special effects. He couldn’t say much about the movie, obviously, since it’s still more than a year away. But he could clear up two things: One, Weta didn’t do anything for the sizzle reel that’s been going around and that won’t be in the movie. And two, whatever he’s working on is a “stand-alone” sequence, not unlike the opening of Man Of Steel with its dragons and giant tub of babies.

It’s interesting, if not unexpected, and it makes us wonder what exactly is in the pipe. After all, we know the Joker is running around in the larger DCU, and there’s also that Wonder Woman movie for which they have to lay the groundwork. We’ll also apparently be able to spot Weta’s work immediately, which tells us that the entire movie isn’t just one long, plotless superhero fight.

Nuts. Well, we guess we’ll see it anyway.
