Lauren Cohan is best known as Maggie on The Walking Dead, and she’ll be fighting a creepy doll this weekend with The Boy. But a new part she’s taking on will be in the upcoming blockbuster, Batman V Superman, in a small, but important role.

Just confirmed through IMDb, Cohan plays Martha Wayne, mother of Bruce. In a bit of a casting gag, Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays Thomas Wayne. Morgan, of course, will be portraying Negan on The Walking Dead, much to the excitement of fans. Morgan has been rather coy about his involvement for months since he was spotted on the set, and it was generally thought he’d be playing Batman’s dad. Cohan, though, was snuck in under the radar, possibly as part of reshoots last year. It makes you wonder if there’s a Walking Dead fan somewhere in the DC Entertainment offices.

Beyond the obvious job of taking a trip down Crime Alley to find Bruce some character motivation, it’s not clear what other role, if any, the Waynes have in the story. It might simply be that Warners wanted some recognizable faces for a brief bit, or it could be that Batman’s past has more of an impact on the story than we may have anticipated. Either way, we’ll find out soon: The movie flies out March 25.
