Henry Cavill Says ‘Batman V Superman’ Won’t Be Split, Separate Rumor Reveals Main Villain

This weekend the rumor began floating around that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was going to be split into two movies, which was more than a little disconcerting. Come on Warner Bros, we’re willing to accept a split-movie cash grab for the final movie in series, but the first one? Screw that noise.

Well, good news – a Variety reporter recently talked to Superman himself, Henry Cavill, at a BAFTA party and apparently he completely denied the split-movie rumors. Phew!

The guys at Badass Digest also think the split seems unlikely for more logistical reasons. They’ve read the script, and the action isn’t balanced at all for two movies. The first half of the movie is reportedly all build, while the second half is Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman in one lengthy throwdown with Doomsday across both Gotham and Metropolis. So basically, if you split the movies you’d end up with one with no action, and one with nothing but action. Also, yes, it’s been suspected for a long time, but Doomsday is the movie’s big baddie.

So yeah, breathe a sigh of relief. Batman V Superman could still be bad, but at least it won’t be two movies worth of bad.
