Bill Murray Is About To Make His Son’s Bar The Most Popular Place In Brooklyn This Weekend

If you aren’t a fan of crowds, you should probably avoid 21 Greenpoint, a brand new bar in Brooklyn, this weekend. The watering hole is sure to be even more packed than a grand opening usually is, and that’s because none other than Bill Murray will be holding it down on the other side of the bar.

See, 21 Greenpoint is co-owned by Murray’s son Homer Murray, so he’s helping get the word out about the venture by using his bartending skills and celebrity to pack the place on September 16 and 17. Murray takes over at 7 p.m. and will pour shots as long as he wants, because he’s Bill Murray.

This isn’t the first time that Murray’s shown his passion for mixology. He tended bar at SXSW in 2010 on his journey to becoming the folk hero that he’s turned into over the last several years. The Ghostbusters star’s skills aren’t in doubt, so it’s just a matter of how he’s going to turn this into an epic story for hundreds of people at once. He has a reputation to consider, after all.

We do have one piece of advice to anyone who finds themselves at 21 Greenpoint this weekend and feels a glimmer of Murray magic coming on. Whatever you do, don’t force it.
