Fifty Shades of Grey isn’t opening in theaters until Valentine’s Day weekend, but at an early fan screening event at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City, it was confirmed that both sequels, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, will also be adapted for the big screen.

Pre-sales for the erotic film have broken box office records, including the fastest selling R-rated movie in the history of Fandango.com, so it shouldn’t be surprising that the studio is eager to push the sequels out as quickly as possible. Fan reaction to the announcement was swift and manic.

The fans in attendance started freaking out almost immediately, to the point where one might even say their inner goddesses were soaring.

Yes, let’s check in with those fans, shall we?

There is also a surprising bit of crossover with Fifty Shades of Grey and the news of Harper Lee’s sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird.
