Channing Tatum’s ‘Gambit’ Movie Aims To Start Shooting In 2017, Mon Ami

After lots of doubts, delays and even more doubts, it looks like fans of Marvel’s Cajun bad boy, Gambit, might finally be in for some good news. While Marvel has been going full force with The Avengers franchise and all of the associated characters and films that come with it, a fan favorite from the realm of the X-Men has been woefully underutilized in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Gambit. Sure, there have been plans for a Gambit film for quite a while now, but the lack of concrete announcements and everyone involved moving on to other projects has left fans on edge.

But never fear, good fans eagerly awaiting Gambit, according to The Wrap, the gears are in motion for the film. While the film was originally slated for a Fall 2016 release date, the film has been delayed without much in the way of concrete dates to the public to hold them over. Now the film’s writer and producer, Simon Kinberg, claims that they’ve got a great script together and that the plan is to begin shooting in early or Spring of 2017.

Sure, that isn’t exactly set-in-stone, but it at least shows that there is some movement on the Gambit front and that it hasn’t been forgotten about just yet. So never fear, mon ami, Gambit hasn’t been forgotten about.
