Daniel Craig Said He’s Definitely Not In ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ But Should We Believe Him?

A wise old sage who wandered the valleys of Marcy Projects once said: “We don’t believe you. You need more people.”

Perhaps the rhetoric of unbelievability should also pertain to Mr. 007, Daniel Craig. The James Bond actor was rumored to have a small role in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, simply because he’s a fan. The same rumor applied to Simon Pegg, and it’s been confirmed that Pegg does indeed have a small role in the franchise film. Pegg seemingly blew the lid off the surprise cameo by Craig back in May, but someone is telling a fib because Craig has gone on record to say that he’d never do a bit part because he’s Bond, dammit, and slow rises out of ocean water with pecs a-bulging are his forte, not hiding his beefy traps under a Stormtrooper’s outfit.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Craig said that the rumors simply are not fact.

“Why would I ever bother doing something like that? F—ing hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie?…Talk to Simon Pegg. He obviously knows way more than I do. He’s just jealous because he’s not in Star Wars. He’s got some issue with J.J. I don’t know what the f— it is. You need to talk to Simon about it.”

The whole thing smells of a put-on. If Craig was in Star Wars, then he’d probably know that Pegg was also in it. The smart move in playing stupid would be to act as if he doesn’t even know that Pegg is in it — which he did — and then speak in an animated manner about the idea of starring in a bit part. I’m not buying it, and this interview just confirmed for me that Craig is in the film.

You need more people, Danny.
