The Golden Globes have found their new man on fire for their prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award. According to the Los Angeles Times, two-time Globe winner Denzel Washington will add another trophy to his collection at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards. The Cecil B. DeMille award, whose recipients demonstrate “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment,” is given to filmmakers, actors, and actresses across the industry whom the Hollywood Foreign Press Association deem worthy of special honor for their work.

The American Gangster actor has already won Globes for his performances in 1989’s Glory and 1999’s The Hurricane, and when making the announcement of his next honor, H.F.P.A. president Lorenzo Soria said, “Washington’s long and storied career is earmarked by his countless roles in front and behind the camera.” In addition to his acclaimed work as an actor, he has also directed the films Antwone Fisher and The Great Debaters.

No stranger to praise from the Hollywood Foreign Press, Washington has been nominated for a Globe five other times, including his Oscar-winning lead role in Training Day and most recently for Flight. He has also found the time outside of movies to take part in the theater, like his run in A Raisin in the Sun last year. Next year will find him reteaming with Training Day director Antoine Fuqua for his remake of the 1960 western The Magnificent Seven, itself already a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai.

The next Golden Globes Ceremony will take place on January 10, 2016 and will once again be presented by three-time host Ricky Gervais.
