‘Doctor Strange’ Gets A New Poster Ahead Of San Diego Comic-Con

The legendary San Diego Comic Con is almost upon us, and in the days leading up to it we’re getting a ton of sneak peeks at what the show will offer. Posters, trailers, and announcements for the next year’s worth of summer blockbusters, superhero movies, and new TV shows are coming at us from every direction. Among the most high-profile of these announcements are the ones involving the upcoming entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the most imminent of which is the adaptation of Doctor Strange. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, we’ve already seen the first poster and the first trailer (you probably heard about some of the controversy surrounding it). And while it’s likely that there will be even more promotion for the film this weekend, Marvel has released their Comic Con poster for the film, and it looks incredible.

Aside from candid set photos (and a visit to a comic shop) we haven’t really gotten a good look at Cumberbatch in costume as Strange. The trailer skirted around it, offering only a silhouette, and the last poster offered pretty much the same. Thankfully, Marvel doesn’t seem to be playing coy about the costume anymore. It looks pretty much identical to the costume donned by the Sorcerer Supreme in the comics, which is pretty par for the course at this point in Marvel cinema. Fans are sure to be happy with it and hopefully it will translate as well to film as it does to still imagery. Doctor Strange hits theaters this November, and until then we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop about all of its ComicCon updates over the next few days.
