Fox Has Officially Put An End To ‘The Revenant’ Bear Rape Conversation

The answer was already clear to certain geniuses at this site, but it would seem that Fox was forced to go ahead and clear up any confusion about Leonardo DiCaprio’s character in The Revenant allegedly getting raped by a bear. The company released an official statement via Entertainment Weekly that denied a Drudge Report story claiming a bear raped the actor in the film:

“As anyone who has seen the movie can attest, the bear in the film is a female who attacks Hugh Glass because she feels he might be threatening her cubs,” a Fox spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly in an exclusive statement. “There is clearly no rape scene with a bear.”

This is the world we live in, folks. Film companies forced to officially address headlines and accusations of bear rape on film. If they would’ve only opened their eyes and read, they would know that Danger had it covered earlier. Much like the time he forced Matthew Weiner to put Don Draper in charge of that classic Coke commercial.

So if you were really, really hoping to see a bear take advantage of a rough and gruff Leo DiCaprio in the middle of the wilderness, you’ll have to watch another movie.
