‘Furious 7’ Is Now The Fifth Highest Grossing Film Of All-Time, And Counting

Just where will the Furious 7 train stop? The seventh film in the Fast & Furious franchise recently surpassed Frozen with a $1.32 billion haul, and is now right behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows II — which made $1.34 billion — as the fifth highest grossing film ever. It’s likely that Furious 7 will surpass Harry Potter with the momentum it has right now, but it’ll have a tough hill to climb if it wants to topple the No. 1 film, Avatar, as it would have to double its take. The car-centric sequel also has a good shot at taking over the No. 3 spot — currently held by The Avengers — if it can gather another $200 million.

Furious 7 topped the domestic box-office again this weekend — the fourth time — raking in $18.2 million.
