“Sure, I love the idea. Why not? What fantasist would not love the idea of going out with an epic hundred million feature film?” That’s shark snack George R.R. Martin talking about a Game of Thrones movie to wrap up its however-many-season run on HBO, in however many years.
HBO boss Michael Lombardo isn’t as enthusiastic about the idea. “I feel that, on some level, [a movie would be] changing the rules,” he said. “Now you have to pay $16 to see how your show ends.” I may just be a small-town blogger who don’t know nothing about no one, but I doubt a single fan would complain about watching Daenerys and her dragons on the big screen.
Until that day maybe arrives, though, the closest you’ll come to seeing Game of Thrones in a theater is to hang around New Mexico, which not worth it, or check out these movie posters, via Whitezine, which replace the actual characters with the Starks, Lannisters, and a Tarly.
