The ‘Ghostbusters’ Trailer Gets A Fan Edit That Should Impress Nostalgic Fans

The trailer for the Ghostbusters reboot that premiered on the interwebs a couple of days was pretty baller, definitely stoking interest and anticipation for the movie’s summer release.

Now it turns out that a YouTube user has introduced his own cut and even though it’s shorter, it’s just as good, if not better, than what the studio released, while also bringing a more old-school vibe in recalling the 1984 original starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.

This fan trailer moves faster, sounds better and includes just the right amount of Ray Parker Jr. to get viewers even more super pumped for the new flick in advance of its summer release. There’s still slime and proton packs and good looks at all four main cast members — Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones — it’s all just a little tighter, a little more focused and so so much fun.

There’s been some noise and bluster since the release of the original trailer, focusing on everything from Jones’s role to a sadly predictable backlash regarding this set of Ghostbusters all being women. No word on whether any of that foolishness will carry over to this new version as of yet. But if you’re a fan of the original movies, you like any of these cast members and dig movies directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy), it’s tough to imagine not getting into this cut.
