The Honest Trailer For ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Proves It’s Basically The Same As ‘Batman V Superman’

Honest Trailers is back to break your heart. This time, the Screen Junkies crew is here to poke, prod and tear apart this year’s comic book movie darling, Captain America: Civil War. Honest Trailers wants to remind moviegoers that hated Batman V Superman and loved Civil War that they’re basically the same movie (except one wasn’t directed by Zack Snyder).

The most damning line, for all comic book movies, comes about a third of the way through: “C’mon, you think there’s be lasting stakes? This is Marvel we’re talking about.”

And so, the connections to Captain America: Civil War and Batman V Superman start flowing freely. There’s that non-super powered villain that seems to be playing puppetmaster with all the bad stuff going on in the world. There are the billionaire playboys who lead secret double lives and wear impressive suits that allow them to be more than just men — those suits allow them to be Supermen*!

And there are heroes fighting heroes because one hero doesn’t like how the other hero operates so then they face off.

It’s a tight argument and one that cannot be ignored.

*These suits do not allow them to be Superman, who just so happens to wear a suit to cover up his suit during the day, while Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark wear suits then change into other suits that in turn allow them to be supermen**.

**But not Superman.
