Jeff Goldblum Drops Some Intriguing Details About His Role In ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

Jeff Goldblum’s “deplorable excess of personality” will soon be applied to playing the Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok. He’s an ancient intergalactic character who possesses an Infinity Stone and enjoys time traveling and playing games with people, and so is the Grandmaster.

Goldblum recently dropped some hints to EMPIRE about how his character will play out in the movie adaptation.

“He’s a hedonist, a pleasure-seeker, an enjoyer of life and tastes and smells. I thought, ‘I can do that, I’ll bet!’ I’m working on my part every day. I’m a sponge, researching.”

Damn right Goldblum is prepared to do that; he’s open like a chicken piccata. (I don’t really know what that means, either, but now I’m certain it comes with “a little seasoning of Goldblum.”)

If that’s not intriguing enough, Goldblum also said director Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) is “encouraging me to improvise and make it my own, and that’s what I’m trying to do. I hope he doesn’t throw me out on the first day!”

Yes, by all means, let Goldblum improvise the Grandmaster’s lines.

And if that’s still not intriguing enough for you… well… I guess you can stare at this picture for the rest of the morning?
