Jennifer Lawrence Is Sorry For Scratching Her Butt On Sacred Hawaiian Rocks

Jennifer Lawrence apologized on Facebook today for comments she made on The Graham Norton Show about scratching her butt. I should probably explain that. While filming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in Hawaii, the Oscar-winning actress was told not to disturb some rocks. “There were sacred rocks,” Lawrence told host Norton. “I don’t know. They were ancestors. Who knows? But you’re not supposed to sit on them because you’re not supposed to expose your genitalia to them. I, however, was in a wetsuit for this whole shoot, and oh my god, they were so good for butt-itching.”

I think you know where this is going.

“One rock that I was butt-scratching on ended up coming loose,” she continued, “and it was a giant boulder, and it rolled down the mountain, and it almost killed our sound guy. It was this huge dramatic deal, and all the Hawaiians were like, ‘It’s the curse!’ And I’m in the corner going, I’m your curse. I wedged it loose with my ass.” People were (understandably!) not pleased with Lawrence sticking her butt where it doesn’t belong, but she claims she “meant absolutely no disrespect to the Hawaiian people.”

I really thought that I was being self deprecating about the fact that I was “the curse,” but I understand the way it was perceived was not funny and I apologize if I offended anyone. (Via)

Don’t dismiss curses so quickly, J-Law. Remember what happened to Greg?
