Jennifer Lawrence’s Dance Floor Encounter With Harrison Ford Could Have Gone Better

Whenever the cameras are pointed her way, Jennifer Lawrence always seems to take a tumble. However, most of the Academy Award-winner’s more uniquely cumbersome (and therefore fantastic) moments happen whenever the photographic pressure of the press and paparazzi are nowhere to be found. Like when she punched co-star Sophie Turner in her lady spot on the set of X-Men: Apocalypse, or when she danced for J.J. Abrams and Harrison Ford of Star Wars: The Force Awakens fame. The latter story comes from her recent visit to The Graham Norton Show, and classy dancing aside, Lawrence’s story comes with a twist.

According to Us Weekly, you see, Lawrence thought the impromptu public greeting would “be fine” because they’re “all coworkers.” Much to her friend comedian Jack Whitehall’s delight, however, this wasn’t the case. So instead of saying hello to Ford and Abrams in her goofy, J-Law manner of doing things, Lawrence embarrassed herself in front of Hollywood royalty:

“So I went up to them and started dancing like an idiot and the whole table just went quiet and stared at me,” she continued. “I realized while I am dancing that they had absolutely no idea who I was so I just turned around and walked back to Jack, dying of embarrassment.”

Whitehall was obviously amused with the whole affair, especially because he was then able to one-up Lawrence and give a proper greeting to Ford. What’s more, Ford gave one back because, in the most unfortunate set of circumstances for Lawrence, Whitehall and the 73-year-old legend had recently worked together:

“I get up and walk over thinking, ‘Oh God, maybe he won’t remember me and I’m going to be humiliated, too.’ And literally as I walked over he stood up and shouted, ‘Hey, Jack!'”

Everything worked out in the end, because Ford, Abrams and the rest of their entourage eventually figured out who Lawrence was. Ford later sent the 25-year-old actress a note to apologize.

Frankly, the only apology necessary is to all of us who want to know what J-Law’s latest dance looked like.
