Jennifer Lawrence Says She Has Met With The Director Of ‘Ghostbusters III’

Make of this what you will, but when MTV UK began asking celebrities on junkets who they’d like to see in Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters III (video compilation of answers above), Jennifer Lawrence had an unexpected response:

“Actually, I met with the director. I had dinner with him.”

Oh, did she? Sadly, that’s all she offered by way of details: We don’t even know why she met him (though, it’s reasonable to conclude that it was to talk about a potential role in Ghostbusters III since Feig has nothing else on his plate at the moment). She and Rebel Wilson, who has also meet with the people behind Ghostbusters III, would make a hell of a team, along with someone like Emma Stone or Juno Temple (as suggested by Shailene Woodley in the video).

In fact, you can almost sense that there are two main casting possibilities, and it will depend on what age bracket Feig ultimately might want to use: Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and maybe someone like Isla Fisher if they go older, and Rebel Wilson, Jennifer Lawrence, and Emma Stone if they decide to go younger.

What we do know is that Jennifer Lawrence didn’t even realize there was a second Ghostbusters movie.

“I didn’t know there was a Ghostbusters II,” Lawrence sheepishly confesses. “Who is in II?” she asked during the junket.

“It’s the same. The main cast,” Liam Hemsworth offers.

“Are you serious? Oh my God!”

“It’s not as good as the first one,” Hemsworth says.

“Well of course not, sequels are never as good,” Lawrence says, before realizing she’s out promoting a sequel to Hunger Games, the third film in the quadrilogy. “But the THIRD is always the best.”

Whether she ends up in Ghostbusters III or not, this is a fun video, although most of the celebs just want Bill Murray to make an appearance. Isn’t that really what we ALL want?
